Bad cold...

Ruby had a horrible cold, and she was sick for more than two weeks. But she is finally feeling better! We were cooped up in the house and couldn't go to church or my women's group for a long time. I'm so glad she's recovering. Apparently someone else brought their sick kid while we were out, and a bunch of the other little kids caught it. I'm just glad to say that for sure it wasn't me. :)

 I ran a 5K color run with my friends on Saturday. It was lots of fun!

 Ruby wanted to take Lupe to church.

 This is why we don't watch much on TV. :) But she was pretty tired too.

 She loves looking at the moon. Her new favorite book is Goodnight Moon, and she wants me to read it to her several times a day.

 Family breakfast date before the dentist. Ruby really liked sharing a plate with us. She ate all the blackberries.

 We went to the library after her nap, and she played with the kitchen for a long time. When we got home, she was putting things in a pan, putting them on the shelf and saying "oven." It was cute.

 I was needed to help with childcare for the women's groups on Tuesday. It was fun to see how Ruby does in the nursery. She's such a happy kid and gets along with everyone really well. One little boy pushed her and she fell down, but when I asked him to say sorry, she gave him a big hug.

 She had all 4 of her paci's and was so excited about them. She usually only gets them at nap and bed time.

Potty!

 First of all, our big accomplishment of the week: Ruby went pee pee on the potty!! She's been wanting to sit on it for a while, but on Sunday she actually went! It was pretty exciting. She's gone several times since then, and sometimes asks to go while I'm changing her diaper. I'm not in a hurry to potty train her, but it looks like she wants to start, so we'll go for it slowly.

Ruby had a nasty cold all week, so we were kind of cooped up in our house and couldn't go to our usual things. It was sad. She's down to just a cough, so hopefully that will be better by Sunday. I don't want to miss a third Sunday in a row at church.

Her current favorite things are coloring, puzzles, and helping Mommy cook. She always loves reading books too. Oh, and brushing her teeth. She also loves her new owl jammies and our umbrella.

 We visited Norpac this week. Ruby got a taste of office work (and several gifts of a necklace, a happy meal toy, an easter egg, and some smarties). :)

 I was cutting up an onion, and this was the first time Ruby got teary too. It was one from my garden, and they seem to be extra strong. Sad.

 She rode the horsey at Safeway and actually stayed on the whole time! She kept bouncing after it was done.

Rain and colors

 It was a very rainy week, so we had to come up with lots of inside activities. We started with baking a pumpkin pie on Friday. Ruby was a great helper.

She's been having trouble getting back to sleep at night this week, and cries a lot, even if I rock her. It's sad and we're all pretty tired. Hopefully it will improve. We got her some warmer jammies and turned the night time heat up because she seemed cold, so I'm hoping that helps. She continues to be busy busy busy during the days and I continue to follow her around and clean up her messes. :) She's getting better about helping put things away too.

We ordered a Love and Logic book for little kids, so hopefully that will help us figure out what to do when she throws things at the table, and how to help her not climb on furniture, etc. For right now, she likes time outs, so that doesn't really work yet.

 Ruby met her new cousin Coraline on Friday night, and proceeded to lay in her baby carseat. :)

The rain finally let up yesterday, so we went to visit Daddy at church today. They played with Nerf rockets in the parking lot.

 She wanted to put diapers on all of her stuffed animals.

I let her color while I made dinner tonight, and she got it all over herself!
