Feeling better, and making some sourdough

For the week of 11/5-11/11

Ruby started feeling a lot better and was able to go back to school once the antibiotics kicked in. The weird thing is that her tonsils are still swollen 4 months later. The doctor said if she keeps getting strep, they'll have to take them out. Thankfully she hasn't gotten anything again and says it doesn't hurt. Hopefully they'll go down eventually.
Miles and I like to go on lots of walks. Checking out a mail box on the way.
 Cutie pie!
Pretty frequently Ruby wants to have a "fancy dinner." She sets out clothes for us all to wear and wants to do candles and wine glasses. It's the cutest.
 Boys in the bath.
My baby sourdough starter! Just getting started with making it.
It was a gorgeous sunny (and cold) day, so Miles and I tried out a new park. :)
And he was wanting to start going potty! He had been sitting but doing nothing.
But we let him get a sticker for trying!
We were measuring the kids very frequently so we knew what rides they'd be able to go on at Disneyland. So Miles kept trying to measure himself. Haha
On Veteran's Day, a huge grader came to grade and resurface the road just outside our house. It was fascinating!
We went to Rock Creek park to play!
 It was really fun.
 Jump!
Cutie pie kids. We really missed Andy though.
Then we walked down the trail...
 ...threw rocks...
 ...and posed on a bench.
Later in the day the resurfaces were hard at work.
It was nice and warm out, so we went to watch. Pretty fun day!
 Handsome little Miles.
Playing the piano at Costco. I think she played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
 PIE!!! Reid helped a lot...
 ...for his half birthday!
I don't even have words... Hahahaha!
Ruby picked up her cross stitch and worked really hard!
Snacks at our Rooted group at church.
And playing in the play structure!
 Making lots of progress!
And time for a hair cut. :)
My sourdough started going crazy! Time to bake stuff. :) We make all kinds of things with it now, we especially like pancakes.
Reid makes the cutest cards for us.
 So does Ruby!
And then there's Miles... all he wants is the Halloween candy!!!

Halloween!

For the week of 10/29-11/4

We had such a fun Halloween! I was in charge of Ruby's class party, which was a blast. And we had a great week too. :)
Miles made this Mr. Potato Head.
Reading together on Ruby's bed. <3
 How Miles eats pears.
Miles loves helping return cans at Costco.
Ruby figured out that standing broom trick thing, then like 2 months later everyone was saying that it was only on a special day that all brooms would stand up. Hahaha
 Wrestle time!
All ready for Halloween at school!
Ruby's last Halloween parade, they only do it through 2nd grade.
 And Reid's first one!
Crafts at the party. My room was in charge of food.
I snuck over and said hi to Reid at his party.
A lovely walk with Miles, black eye and all.
Good thing I made him an eye patch for his costume!
 Post nap snuggles.
 He loves climbing trees.
 Playing candy dump truck.
 All ready to trick-or-treat!
Our neighborhood kids all dressed up. They're all so cute.
Our neighbors are new to the area, so they came trick-or-treating with us.
 We had tons of fun!
The big kids would all run ahead, then Miles would waddle up in his pirate boat. Hahaha
Finally home. He kept stealing candy!
 We got tons and tons!
Friday morning the kids didn't have school, so we headed to McMenamins to swim in their soaking pool. Ruby got to bring the class stuffed animal Jerry the Japanese Spider Crab home for the weekend.
It was warm and sooooo fun!
Reid got inspired to make a paper turkey.
 Miles's 1/2 birthday!
The kids love to sing on our stage.
Unfortunately, the next morning Ruby woke up with a sore throat and a fever...
 She was so sick. :(
 Trying to stay busy.
Her throat hurt so bad and with her fever, I took her in to Urgent Care on Sunday. Sure enough, strep throat. She got on antibiotics right away.
 Cutie in Grandma's old glasses.
 Starting to feel better!
We brought the play kitchen out...
 Hahaha
Ruby's journal entry with Jerry for her class.
Reid went to school all by himself on Monday, so these guys got a nice morning bath...
...and reading time, pajama day, and lots of snuggles. <3
