Quarantine week 20: River day!

 For the week of 7/28-8/3
We did lots of crafts and activities, and finished the week off with a trip to the river with some friends.
We got two bags of blueberries from some friends, and Miles ate them all in two days!
Ruby and I picked all of these flowers from our street.
I told Reid that if he read 30 books to me, I would buy him this gear set. So he worked hard and earned it!
I bought a legitimate pencil sharpener since we're doing school at home this year!
The kids all love getting "free lunch" provided by the school district.
The kids got out the craft box...........
We got this bracelet making kit and Ruby made bracelets for everyone.
Reid found a puzzle and worked so hard on it.
Meanwhile, Ruby got a headache and didn't feel good on Saturday.
I had to help him with the blue parts, but he did great!
Ruby started feeling a lot better on Sunday. We made this fun ocean diorama.
It turned out pretty cute.
Then on Monday, we met my friend Elaine and her boys at Sauvie Island and played in the river for about 4 hours! It was so lovely and perfect, it ended up being a really great day.
The kids had tons of fun playin in the sand and the water. Ruby and Flint stayed in for most of it.
Miles and Ezra had fun playing in the sand.
Helping little brother swim.
The boys woke up really early the next morning, so I told them to build the beach out of Duplos... a little while later Reid came out with this. The gray block at the bottom is our house, the brown block is where we bought our parking pass, then the road over the bridge and down the island. At the end is two adults talking on the beach, and the kids playing in the water, which spun around! He is just so creative.

Quarantine week 19: Ruby's half birthday

 For the week of 7/21-7/27

We had Ruby's half birthday this week! And we all just had lots of fun together. The kids had their first play date with friends in about 4 months, which was very fun. They do interact with the neighbor girls in the back yard, but we try to stay on our own sides. They're mostly good about it, except for Miles. We can't leave him out there unattended ever. He is sure a busy 3-year-old to say the least! He has been mostly potty trained for a while now. He still does have accidents, but as long as we remember to take him potty, he's good. He has even gone to the potty a few times on his own!! Woohoo!
Andy had an old Lego set still in the box that he gave to the kids, and they put it together themselves. Super cute.
Brothers. <3
They love to build shelters in the back yard.
Ruby wanted lemon poppy seed cupcakes with blackberry frosting! The blackberries were still a bit sour, but they turned out really good anyway. We shared with all of the neighbors.
Happy 8 1/2 birthday, Peach! She is just getting so big.
He put on my apron and painted the play house with water. He's always thinking of the next thing to do, that's for sure.
All zipped up with Mommy.
Goof ball!
The kids and I all went out to pick some blackberries! It was great, because Miles was so busy picking and eating, that he didn't run away.
But Reid got distracted...
And picked this beautiful little bouquet for me. <3 He is so sweet.
He built this big Duplo machine.
Miles went out into our side yard, and I saw him just sitting on this little thing for quite a while. I went over to see what he was doing, and he was just staring at some ants crawling around. So we sat there together and watched them for a long time! He liked when they crawled on his hands, and he tried to feed them some food.
He loves to climb trees.
We had our little play date over by the cemetery with two of our neighbor kids. They're the same ages as Ruby and Reid.
Reid and Caleb are best friends, and just had so much fun playing for about an hour and a half.
He lost his other front tooth! It was right at bed time, and we put the kids all to bed. Then Reid ran out and said he turned his tooth sideways, and it just came out! He was so excited after that he had a hard time going to sleep.
Lunch time snuggles in Reid's Blue Blanket.
We got our first zucchini!
Dana invited us over to play in her back yard. The kids have so much fun.
And little Gerald is just so sweet. We love him!
Ruby and Reid decided to spend some of their money ($6 each) on this little video game set. It's very retro/simple and cute.
We usually watch a few shows in the afternoons, and they decided to all snuggle up for it.

Quarantine week 18: The blackberries are here!

For the week of 7/14-7/20

The blackberries are ripe!! Miles has been in blackberry heaven. That kid eats SO much fruit.
These guys really love their river. They do bridges, islands, and have so much fun.
He fell asleep in the car. He's just so cute and little.
Reid really loves building Lego bricks.
He does this with his shirt a lot. Hah!
I took the kids on a walk in Rock Creek! It was a short trail (.3 miles), but we had lots of fun throwing rocks in the creek...
...and then they all got big sticks and were cutting the weeds with them. :)
Snuggle and book time.
Ruby made Miles a time-out square. Hah!
Yum!!! They were still quite sour, but we enjoyed them anyway. Miles made the funniest faces eating them, but kept right on doing it.
We met Del and Patty at a park near their house and picked berries together. It was hot so Ruby had to take a break.
Before Andy mowed, he told the kids he'd pay them $.01 per pinecone they picked up. I think they each got to at least 100! Miles got 5. Hah!
My sweet family brought me breakfast in bed after I had a bad night's sleep. It was so lovely.
He stuffs a bunch of food in his cheeks, it's so funny looking. They are quite big pouches.
Reid rolled all around the living room with his yarn for quite a while. Hah! And it is very hard to get him out of his jammies every day. He loves nothing more than just staying home and playing.
It was so hot one evening that we didn't want to cook anything, so we made smoothies for dinner and drank them in the back yard.
The boys got hair cuts! And we are getting the loveliest sweet peas every day.
