Family trip to the beach!

We had a FUN trip to stay in yurts at Beverly Beach this weekend. My family met us there. It was such a great time, even though it was quite cold. Thank goodness for heated yurts!

On another note, Miles is fully embracing being 2 and is being so naughty! He almost gave me a black eye the other day when he threw a baseball at my face. :( We're trying to discipline him through it, but it's been so hard. Just today he dumped out two water cups on the carpet, dumped his oatmeal and his lunch plate, bit the tip off of a marker, ate some paper, and probably about 5 other things I can't remember right now. He's the sweetest thing, but definitely has a naughty streak.
Miles wanted to put on Ruby's clothes! Haha
The boys and I walked down the street and ran across some guys taking down branches. They loved it.
Then we went to Flower Land.
Reid really wanted to start packing. Each bag had about 2-3 things in it. Hah!
They love checking out anything that moves.
It was a lovely afternoon so we busted out the sprinkler!
 :)
On Friday Ruby went to just 1/2 day of school, then we picked her up and drove to the coast. We stopped at Tillamook to see the new cheese factory tour and have some ice cream.
So cool to check out the cheese making process!
Then we drove down to Beverly Beach, just north of Newport. Miles just ran and ran and ran the whole time we were there, until he got exhausted. We had to have someone watching him full time.
We had fun crossing the creek on logs.
Then we had dinner and made smores by the fire.
Bed time the first night wasn't too hard because Miles had only napped for about 20-30 minutes in the car.
Then the big kids played Out Foxed with Andy. They eventually got tired and went to bed too!
Mom and Dad and Cindy's family all got there late in the night. Their yurt was right next to ours. This is our cute little camp setup.
We made regular and chocolate pancakes for breakfast on Saturday...
...then headed to the beach for the morning! We had tons of fun playing in the sand, flying kites, rerouting the river, and digging holes.
It was so cold. And also we saw this big pig.
The boys loved digging!
 Toddlers...
Reid was so cold and tired Andy had to carry him.
And Miles just about fell asleep walking back to the yurt.
Ruby wasn't tired! She climbed away on all of the cool trees.
Reid was still cold and wanted to eat lunch by the fire.
Miles took a nice long afternoon nap, so Cindy and I took the other kids on a nature trail and to the park across the campground.
Making a trap in the sand.
Reid got in on the tree climbing too.
After dinner we walked back to the beach for a little bit. It was so cold!
Dan found this cool fort. It was a nice shelter from the wind.
Reid is so cute. He loved the sand.
The girls all had so much fun together.
 Snuggles before bed.
Good morning! The big kids took turns being on the top bunk and the futon.
Sunday breakfast.
 Cousins!
After we packed up camp, we all headed to the Oregon Coast Aquarium down in Newport. It was so fun! We watched them feed the sea otters and sea lions.
 Miles loved the fish tunnels.
So did everyone else! There were some scuba divers in there cleaning, which was cool.
 Watching the sharks swim by.
I loved the big schools of fish swimming all around.
Sweet hugs. They love each other.
We had fun touching the star fish and anemones.
Ruby with the jelly fish.
The girls in the sea horse habitat.
The boys in the submarine setup.
Then we all ate lunch and headed home. Ruby and Miles both took a long nap in the car.
"Reading" his bible. He tells cute stories about Jesus when he does.

We had such a fun trip! I'd definitely do it again. It was so nice to have the yurt and not have to set up a tent and all that. :)
