41 weeks: Winter Freeze!

Reidsy has been so cute, saying Ma ma all the time. :) It's so fun to hear it! Ruby didn't say it until about 14 months. Oh, and he says Da da too. He has been sleeping terribly, up every hour from about 10-3 this week, but last night he miraculously only woke up at 10:30, 2 and 5. That's definitely doable. I think his molar hurts him still, and I think his top one is coming in soon too. He's just about to crawl, and I'm starting to think about baby proofing better. Ruby and I have had lots of conversations about not leaving small things around for Reid to find.
Ruby has been cracking us up lately. She says and does the funniest things. When she does some kind of performance, she says, "Guys, can you clap for me? Thank you, thank you." Potty training has been frustrating. She still does not like going on the potty. She doesn't have a lot of pee pee accidents, but does have poopy ones. I know she'll get it some day, but it's been taking forever.
We tagged along with Andy and our high school and middle school groups to Winter Freeze this weekend. There were other wives/kids there too, and it was lots of fun.
Spinning Ruby around in the basket.
 Reading before bed time.
 I like her style.
Camp! She kept finding logs and wanting to sit on them.
Ruby's friend Aiden was there, and they had lots of fun together.
The worship band played just for them on Saturday and they had a fun dance party.
We love Gary! He's a great baby holder.
Ruby's first friend Valentine from Aiden.
 And Reid got one too.
Ruby and Aiden playing "Stuck in a tree" on the top bunk. And then they wanted to play it for the rest of the weekend.
Eating a churro. I think bringing her booster seat for eating was the best decision I've ever made. It made having both kids by myself there so much easier without her running around.
 Sitting by the fire.
We got to go on lots of nice walks. This guy really loves being outside. He will be crying or fussy, and then we go outside and he just calms right down.
 Playing Dot-Art in our cabin.
They were saying, "It's so beautiful outside!"
On Saturday afternoon we went swimming in Clackamas because of the lack of snow on the mountain. The weekend wore these guys out.
They both slept most of the way home on Sunday.
Laying and playing on the giant pile of stuff I unloaded when we got home.
Playing hide in the blanket. Reid was just laughing and laughing.
Exhausted! He worked so hard over the weekend. Camp turned out great.
I went and warmed myself up in the sunshine by the window, and then Ruby went and copied me.
 Playing with his dump truck.
Monday afternoon we took the kids to the Carousel in Salem and dropped them of with Gary and Julie, and we went out for a drink. It was lovely.
 Playing in a basket.
Ruby dumped a bunch of her toys in this basket and claimed that she was "organizing."
 Dog pile on Mommy!
 He loves teeth.
 Wrestling with sister.
She went shopping for all of these things and was taking them back to her room.
 Cute sleepy guy.
We made play dough out of jello. I guess jello is good for something after all. :)
This morning Ruby woke up at 6:15 and turned the light on in their room and then apparently climbed in Reid's crib. This is what I came in to. :) They really love each other.
 They love to play together.
Sweet boy taking a nap.

  1. I love how taking the booster chair along makes you happy!! It's great to find delight in everyday things. These kids are so cute and I miss them a lot!! Reason to retire soon! Tell Andy we are so glad and grateful to God that the retreat turned out well, he did a great job sounds like! Love you!
