9 Weeks

Miss Ruby turned two months old on Monday. At the Doctor's office on Tuesday she weighed 13 lbs 15 oz!! That puts her in the 98th percentile for weight. She sure likes to eat :) She's such a sweet baby. This week she started sleeping full time in her bassinet, and she also started sleeping a 5-6 hour stretch every night. That has been nice to get so much sleep. She'll wake up around 3am, and then sometimes at 5:30 or so, but sometimes sleeps until 7. She's talking up a storm, too, and loves looking at things and playing with her toys. Well, at least looking at us show her them.
Long eyelashes!
She's about to find her thumb to suck on.
Lots of tummy time and smiles.

8 Weeks

Ruby's getting such a cute personality! She loves staring at pictures on the wall, and is making all kinds of cute faces and noises at Andy and I. She's just adorable and so fun to be around. She has a cold again and has been stuffed up, but she is very cuddly and loves napping while being held.

We had lots of visitors over the weekend, starting with our friends Jake and Cassie and their two kids Elizabeth and William. Elizabeth was very good at noticing when Ruby spit out her pacifier and let us know every time. Then Andy's parents came down, and then my parents came up. It was lots of fun to see our families.
Sound asleep today.
Naps are for sissies :)
Surprise!
She's getting so good at tummy time. All kinds of head control.

7 Weeks

Our sweet baby is getting so smiley this week! I love waking up in the morning to a big smile. She's just on the upper end of her 0-3 month clothes. Some fit larger than others though, so we may be able to use them for another little bit. We have tons of short sleeved onesies for 3-6 months, but I'll have to get some long sleeved onesies to go under them because it's still so cold.

I took Ruby to Norpac yesterday, and one of the girls there had a baby December 16th who is only 10 lbs something now. My baby is way bigger than her! Hah. We like to grow them big :) I'm wondering if she'll be chubby as a little baby, then thin out as she starts crawling and walking. I love the chub. She also has a cute tuft of hair on the top of her head that's longer than the rest, and a little mullet in the back too.

I'm trying to keep track of when she eats and sleeps during the day to see if there's any sort of pattern... As of today (day two of tracking) there's nothing. It would be nice if she would eat/sleep on a schedule, but I'm not going to force it. I don't think she's ready for that and probably won't be for a while. Most nights she sleeps pretty well, but she slept a lot yesterday, so she didn't sleep good until midnight last night. I'll have to try to keep her up a little more today. It's hard though when her eyes just keep closing.

We're having lots of visitors this weekend. Our friends the Lloyds are coming for dinner tomorrow night, and then the Pullens on Saturday and my parents on Sunday. Yay!
More tummy time! Working on that head control.
She looks little on the big bed.
I love her cloth diapers.
Reading time!
Happy baby :)

6 Weeks

Our baby girl is 12 lbs 8 oz! /that's almost 4 lbs above her birth weight. Crazy. She's so west. She's starting to smile more and is getting used to her hands. Her little coo's are cute, and I love her chubby legs. She's been sleeping a little better, which is very nice for Mommy.

We dedicated Ruby to Jesus in church on Sunday. It was pretty cool. Andy and I wrote a letter to her, and he shed a tear or two while he read it. A bunch of our family members got to be there as well, which was really special.

All snuggled up.
She loves bath time!
And she loves her Daddy.
Little chub :)

5 Weeks

Little Ruby is not so little anymore :) She's 5 weeks old, and today at the Doctor, she weighed 12 lbs 3 oz! She's a big girl who loves to eat. She's so precious too. I really love being her mommy. The other night she had a poopy diaper (almost blowout), and I was lifting her legs to change her and she started to pee and it got on her face. And then she started to spit up. Baby explosion! Thankfully that doesn't happen too often.
She's not sleeping super good most nights. Occasionally we'll get a three hour stretch, but it's usually more like two hours at a time. Or like last night, an hour at a time... We like naps, that's for sure.
Ruby saw her first snow today. We woke up to a few lovely inches on the ground. On Tuesday we took a walk with the dogs in the rain. Thankfully we have a rain cover for her stroller. Andy was gone all last weekend, and we survived. It's very nice to have him home though. He's the best daddy ever.
Her first bottle being fed to her by Daddy.
Little chub :)
She's so cute when she sleeps.
